Benson, NC: Mr. William "Bill" Eric Woodall, Jr., age 72, passed on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Benson United Methodist Church. Revs. Ron Patton and Earl Delaney will officiate.
Bill was born on November 3, 1942 to the late parents of Will Eric and Louise McLamb Woodall of Benson. He attended UNC where he was a standout wrestler, and graduated from Campbell University. After receiving a Masters Degree in math from East Carolina University, Bill was a Mathematics instructor at Methodist University in Fayetteville and Johnston Community College in Smithfield. He worked as a systems analyst at Research Triangle Park and was a partner in Woodall's Clothing, Inc. After retirement, Bill designed and distributed his own "Easy Dues It" software program. Bill was a member of the Benson Lions Club and a member of the Benson Greater Open organization. He was a member of Benson United Methodist Church.
A born storyteller, Bill loved to tell jokes; which always invoked laughter in others. Often asking afterwards, "Wasn't that a good one?"
Survivors are wife of 50 years, Noela Auman Woodall; sons & daughter-in-law, Eric Woodall of New York City and Clay & Isa Woodall of Raleigh; brother & sisters-in-law, Tony & Judy Woodall of Benson and Susan Auman of Cary; granddaughters, Eva Woodall and Noelle Woodall; and nieces and nephew.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the Benson United Methodist Church immediately following the service.
