William "Jabo" Jackson

April 6, 1926 — March 27, 2013

Coats, NC:  Mr. William Talbert “Jabo” Jackson, age 86, of Coats died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Jim Cochran and Rev. Agnes Baker Douglas.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.     Mr. Jackson was born April 6, 1926 in Sampson County to the late Lester B. and Mamie Clifton Jackson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Norris Jackson, and a son, William Ronald Jackson.  Mr. Jackson served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109.  He was an electrician and a member of Coats Community Church.     Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Joseph Smith of Benson; sons & daughters-in-law, Johnny D. & Joy Jackson of Cary and Ricky G. & Selena Jackson of Raeford; grandchildren & spouses, Joey & Jennifer Smith, Colby & Amy Jackson, April & Mitchell Womack, Kelly & Jason White, and Chase Jackson; great grandchildren, Novie, Noah, Reese, Sam, Avery, and Jackson; and brother, L. B. Jackson of Mentor, OH.     The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, March 29, 2013, and other times at the home of Barbara & Joseph Smith, 1118 W. Pope Street, Benson, NC.     A special thanks to medical staff and volunteers on 3A at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville in care of the Community Living Center for their loving and caring attention.
