Willie Roger Goodwin

Benson, NC: Mr. Willie Roger Goodwin, age 70 of Meadowbrook Road passed away on August 26, 2024 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. Private Services will be held by the family.

Mr. Goodwin was born on September 18, 1953 in Johnston County to the late Will and Anelia Barefoot Goodwin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Jackson; and his brother, Dick Jones. Mr. Goodwin was a farmer of various crops. He also worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Johnston County. Mr. Goodwin enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia Lee Goodwin; step-son, Gene Lee of Benson; granddaughter, Emily Gene Lee of Benson; great-granddaughter, Aspen Gene Fail; brother, Phil Goodwin of Smithfield; sister, Sherry White and husband, Marvin of Wilmington; several nieces and nephews.
