Willie Sherrill Bowden

Angier, NC:  Mr. Willie Sherrill Bowden, age 78, died Monday at Transitions Life Care Hospice in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.   Officiating will be Revs. Phillip Bowden and Rich Denning.  Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.               Mr. Bowden was born September 23, 1938 in Harnett County to the late Dallas Floyd and Bessie Stewart Bowden.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Haywood Bowden, D.F. Bowden, Jack Bowden and Evis Bowden and sisters, Doris Tart and Edna Baker and Pat Denning.  Mr. Bowden was a retired carpenter and member of Faith Chapel Church in Dunn.               Surviving include wife of 53 years, Clara Mae Dickens Bowden; loving companion, Willie Patches Bowden of the home; brother, Harold Bowden of Benson; sister, Lucille Steele of Wilson; many loving nieces and nephews.               The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM  Thursday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Betty Busbee, 826 Woodall Dairy Road, Benson, NC 27504.                Memorials may be made to Daymark Recovery Services, Inc., 5841 US-421, Lillington, NC 27546 or American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
