Willis Calvin "Papa Willie" Slaughter

Willis Calvin “Papa Willie” Slaughter age, 84 of Four Oaks, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Landing’s of Smithfield, NC.  Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00PM, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Four Oaks City Cemetery in Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Billy Nowell will officiate.

Mr. Slaughter was born on May 22, 1938 in Johnston County, NC to the late Harvey and Polly Ivey Guin Slaughter.  He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Slaughter, sisters, Ruby Pearl Ramsey, Nettie Parker and Polly Slaughter, and brothers, William David Slaughter and Willard Slaughter.  Mr. Slaughter worked with Johnson Grading and Landscaping.

Survivors include his children, Daryl Slaughter and wife, Tamara of Smithfield, NC; and Susie Mae Johnston and husband, Steven of Kenansville, NC; grandchildren, Mara Benson and husband, Aaron; Marisa Hill, Harley Whaley and husband, Stephen, Keely Stanley, Calvin Johnston, and Cody Johnston; great-grandchildren, Brantley Oldham, Layla Benson, Theodor Allen and Blakelee Benson; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Sunday and other times at the home of Daryl Slaughter 1344 B. Packing Plant Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
